I am a Teaching Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Portland State University School of Business. My research focuses on managerial accounting issues across three major topic areas: group size, incentive focus, and prosocial framing. I study how each of these factors affects important organizational outcomes, including managerial reporting, risky decision-making, and employee performance. I utilize controlled experiments to investigate these issues, relying on a mix of experimental economics and judgment and decision-making techniques to provide insights into manager and employee behavior.
I graduated from my PhD program at Indiana University in Spring 2024 and spent two years as an Assistant Professor at Texas State University before joining Portland State. Before the PhD program, I earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Reno. After graduation, I worked as an auditor at PwC in Las Vegas, Nevada.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, reading books, and trying to learn Korean.
